The Boat That Came Back Empty

Longfellow Point: Harbor Patrol Kids — Book 1

An empty boat. A missing fisherman. And three kids who notice what everyone else misses.

It starts like any other morning at Longfellow Point Harbor.

Boats are coming and going. Gulls circle above the marina. The lighthouse watches over the water.

Then Sophie spots something through her binoculars.

A boat is drifting into the harbor.

It's the Sea Cricket.

But no one is steering it.

The fishing gear is still aboard. The keys are in the ignition. An orange life jacket lies on the deck.

But the boat's owner, Ben Parker, is nowhere to be found.

Emma, Jack, and Sophie begin looking for clues. Why is only one side of the boat wet? Where had the Sea Cricket been? And what happened before it drifted home alone?

With Emma's notebook, Jack's knowledge of boats, and Sophie's sharp eyes, the three friends set out to solve their very first mystery—and become the Harbor Patrol Kids.

The Boat That Came Back Empty is the first book in the Longfellow Point: Harbor Patrol Kids series, an illustrated mystery adventure created for young readers ages 6–8.

Perfect for children who enjoy mysteries, boats, lighthouses, ocean animals, hidden clues, and seaside adventures.

Watch the water. Follow the clues. Solve the mystery.
